Secret Root Spa was started by Sri Lankan/Lao couple Dhammika and Nittaya Wijetunga, in 2006.
‘We were keen to create a spa that embraced our beautiful natural surroundings, a place where people could rest and relax.’
Gradually, the spa has grown alongside its popularity, from one small treatment ‘hut’, to eight simple yet beautiful cabanas. Although over the years we have made improvements to the spa, we have not lost sight of our original vision.
Two years after establishing the spa, Secret Root Spa opened The Secret Guesthouse, which provides simple yet stylish accommodation, within the same beautiful surroundings as the Secret Root Spa.
Location:
The Secret Guesthouse and Secret Root Spa are situated in lovely Mirissa, on Sri Lanka’s beautiful south coast, in between the picturesque fishing village of Weligama and the bustling seaside town of Matara.
Directions:
Please follow signs for ‘Secret Root’. The first signpost stands opposite a beach hotel called ‘Giragala’. Turn inland at this sign to find us at the end of the short village lane. Please feel free to call us for any help.
